Leadership and Community
During the week-long immersive course at Saint Andrew’s Abbey, I learned about community from one of the oldest communities - Benedictines. We learned how their view of community applies to our personal and organizational lives. The monks experience many of the same trials that we do, and it’s through discipline to a life of service and humility that has helped them endure through time. It was wonderful to find silence and fellowship by living the monastic life for a week.
Artifact - My final paper for Leadership and Community compared and contrasted monastic community to that of my organization. The intent was to show how it might be possible to adopt rituals or traditions from the Benedictines that could positively impact my organization through individual change.
